She has spent many years in parish and diocesan catechetical ministry (most recently as Director of Adult Faith Formation for the Archdiocese of Detroit),
ministering in many contexts
and dimensions,
always in the area of adult faith formation.
Janet currently accompanies others
on their faith-journey through days of reflection/retreats, workshops, catechist formation opportunities,
adult faith formation opportunities/consultation,
Myers-Briggs explorations, etc. as well as online courses through C21 at Boston College and the Virtual Learning Center for Faith Faith Formation at the University of Dayton.
She is on the Project Team for the Faith Formation Learning Exchange. Janet created and publishes GEMS - a monthly newsletter from an ongoing international adult faith formation best practices study.
She has been an elected officer of the Executive Committee of NCCL (National Conference for Catechetical Leadership), a member of the Board, and currently a member of the
NCCL Adult Faith Formation Committee.
In 2010, Janet received the NCCL Distinguished Service Award in Catechetics.
The author of hundreds of articles and
several publications in catechetical and parish ministry,
her articles can be found in Today's Parish,
Religion Teacher's Journal, The Priest,
Catechist, Ministry and Liturgy, etc.
Janet writes the monthly Gospel reflections
for Take-Out: Family Faith on the Go
and was one of the 4-member team who wrote
the Leader's Guide to accompany
Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us.
